It has been awhile...

In order to successfully return to the blogging world that I've so missed, I'm going to have to consolidate.  As busy as this past month has been, I could probably post for an entire month and not have everything documented. So, the cliff-notes version!

1. We. Got. MARRIED! And it was awesome. I don't have many pictures yet; unfortunately, our photographer is completely swamped and should have them to us by the end of the month. He did send us this "sneak peak"...



 2. And went on our honeymoon at Le Blanc Spa and Resort in Cancun, Mexico. We had a great time just relaxing, eating all we could eat, drinking all we could drink, and practicing our Spanish :)

We took a day trip to La Isla de las Mujeres off the coast of Cancun. Our guide, Uriel, took us on a bike ride to the southern-most point of the island. He road so fast that we went from a group of ten to a group of 4 because no one could keep up! Cute helmets, huh?

3. I graduated and got a job as a Registered Nurse on a cardiac floor at Roper Hospital!

4. Our house is coming along...we are getting things all put away and organized right now. More pictures to come...we have curtains and couch covers, and a few things up on our walls!

We got 2 awesome mirrors as a wedding gift from Mrs. Jeane (thank you!)...one is hanging above our bed and the other in our living room. Both are the sunburst-style mirrors that I love! I have a pic of the living room one...

Bo and I logged a few hours last night at our townhouse...and we got the living room all finished up, trim and all! Here are a few pics...

Any suggestions for window treatments? I really love some simple Pottery Barn panels in white...with a bold dark wood curtain rod.

Progress!

Slowly but surely, we are making progress on our house! My Aunt Cathy has decided to give us the best wedding gift EVER and help clean and paint our home...she just started on Monday (without running water!) and already has made our house look more like our home :).

If you'll recall, our previously taupe and sky blue kitchen...

And now, our new and improved kitchen walls!

The lighting isn't great...but TRUST me...it's a phenomenal improvement. Our living room will be painted this color as well..."Big Boy" blue by Valspar. Or maybe it's "Blue Boy". I can't remember.

Also, no more ugly wallpaper in our half-bath downstairs...

This bathroom is going to be a very light tan...I'm thinking about adding some very subtle horizontal stripes!


We will be painting tomorrow and Friday, so many more updates to come!



In wedding-related news, we had a "couples bar-b-cue shower" on Saturday. It was a lot of fun spending time with our family and friends, eating some delicious Kelly's bar-b-que, drinking from our homemade redneck wine glasses, listening to some country music, and watching the Tigers beat the Terps :).

I can't believe we are getting married in only 51 days! This year has just flown by. More updates to come! Hope you'll be able to enjoy some of this beautiful weather over the next few days :).

Bo signed all the papers last Tuesday; immediately following, we had a celebratory Zaxby's meal and Lowe's visit. As soon as we have a few hours of free time, we are going to have the place deep cleaned, and then put some new color on the walls!

My Dad's purple chucks...responsible for our winning streak? Lets just say he won't be taking them off on any upcoming Saturdays.

We are so proud of the Tigers and Dabo. In Dabo's post-game interview after VT domination, he told everyone back in Clemson that they better come out at the West Endzone to celebrate with himself and the team. And boy did they listen.

We ain't done yet!!

life is good.

I took a little vacay from blog world, mostly because I've been really busy! Busy in a good way. I'm doing my last clinical rotation in the nursery with lots of beautiful little babies, Bo and I just started a Bible study on Sunday nights, and we are making major headway with wedding plans! Not to mention, there are lots of college football games and wedding showers coming up in the next 3 months.



AND, we will finally close on our house on Tuesday! We have a meeting with the lawyer; this is set. in. stone. Period.

I've got a new project on my mind...a DIY coffee-table-turned-ottoman. We already have Bo's grandparents' old coffee and side tables...all we need is some fabric, batting, a staple gun, and some paint. Wa-la...brand new ottoman, with fabric to perfectly match your decor.
